Elderflower replaces sweet vermouth in this floral Manhattan

It’s like a ‘lite’ sweet Manhattan. It doesn’t have as much depth as a traditional sweet Manhattan and the Bitters are a bit overwhelming.

If using St German, wouldn’t this be better known as an Alpine Manhattan or a Savoie/Savoy Manhattan as it’s not made in Paris?

The Manhattan for the sweet tooth. Suits me and younger drinkers. By far my favourite Manhattan.

That is a well-balanced drink, I tried it without the Maraschino cherry and it wasn't as nice in my opinion so I'd definitely recommend making sure you've got some on hand.

This drink has an excellent balance and complexity. Note that it is called a Paris Manhattan in the 15th edition Diffords Guide cocktail book.

We used our homemade elderflower liquor, probably a bit stronger than St Germain!
