Iced Tea Martini

I made this with some Smoky Earl Grey tea I had from Fortnum & Masons (I know!) and it was so good. I added some lemon juice as personally I think it needs it go help the Earl Grey flavour. The smoke really blends well with the gin and Earl Grey.

I must be one of about seven people who don’t like this film (I really don’t!) but I do like this cocktail. I used a homemade Cherry Gin I made which worked well but and it does have the ‘slight’ carrot taste. Great cocktail, just a shame about the film.

The possibilities with this are endless. After trying this (I thought it was okay), I went with Apricot as everyone knows that goes with Bourbon like Hemingway goes with Daiquiris. And it works! Also works with Amaretto and Frangelico.

There’s a variation of this called Skater On Crack, which is 30ml/1oz of Pineapple Rum, 30ml/1oz Pineapple juice, 30ml/1oz Jäegermeister, 22.5ml/0.75oz Lime juice and 22.5ml/0.75oz of simple syrup. And it is glorious.

This needs adjusting quite a lot. One slice of cucumber is t enough, plus it needs more gin and Gentian liqueur. I went with about 2 inches of cucumber, 60ml of Gin and 40ml of Suze. Then I could taste every ingredient. I also used mixed peppercorns, as each different pepper (white, black, green, pink and red) picked out a different ingredient. It gave it more taste and more oomph.

Grenik .

Made with Hangar 1 vodka and Revolution Chocolate and Coffee liquor. I was surprised that the vodka was so prevalent. I expected the espresso to overpower. It is more like a martini than I expected. I will try some other favorite vodkas, do not be afraid to use the good stuff as it will shine through.

If you want to try other vodkas, Absolut Rasberri is amazing in this.

Finally! A use for my liquorice bitters!

This is so delicate and light! The pairing of coconut and absinthe shouldn’t work, but here is delightful and it tastes just right. This is delightful.

Oh yeah, this is good. Love the smoky Mezcal combining with the Aperol and the Maraschino, which on paper shouldn’t work but it does. Some of the variations below sound interesting so I’ll be trying them.

Used Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz gin for this, and it blends in perfectly. Gives it a really full bodied kick.
