Review:

As Dick Bradsell once said to me, "It may make you wobble, but it won't make you fall down." Dick named this cocktail after the 1970s' Weebles children's roly-poly toys which were advertised with the catchphrase, "Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down."

A crowd pleasing cocktail that tastes like candy, with the grapefruit drying up on the finish. Lovely but not super complex.

This tastes like a sweet and sour berry and citrus candy. Delicious!

Really showcases a good homemade sloe gin well. Adjust the sugar syrup accordingly.

Very pleasant and fruity. Probably on the sweet side for me (no slider gizmo on this recipe page?). Also went with Florian’s suggestion of raspberry syrup, plus a dash of a Finnish blueberry/raspberry liqueur that was lurking in the cupboard.
Might try Sean’s bloody Shiraz version next time!

Used Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz gin for this, and it blends in perfectly. Gives it a really full bodied kick.

I love it - the WEEBLES commercial!!! In the US most people have no clue about Weebles, only those of us of a certain (ahem…) age. Thank you for this! On to the drink, first time I’ve had sloe gin (Hayman’s), I like it!. I used raspberry syrup as suggested. I’ll certainly make it again.

Also tasty with raspberry syrup as replacement of Creme de Mure.

No crème de mure so used Chambord instead which worked well.

Immediately, not my ideal brands of choice (used what was on hand), but the result was quite tasty enough to warrant revisiting... Gordon's, Hofland Sloe Gin, and Mathilde Cassis were the subs... I continue to be impressed by Dick's cocktails.
