I buy one bottle of Tawny Port every year (Christmas time) and have until now never been able to finish more than 2 thirds (at most) of a bottle but more often than not only half a bottle. Glad to discover a new delicious way to drink it that might make it more appealing to those that don't like either ingredients on their own. I will now be looking for other recipes and hopefully can get other family members to help prevent wastage at Christmas.

Wonder if I can fact check something… when I was trained I got told to pour the brandy and then provide the customer with the port bottle to let them decide on the measure to their taste preference. Obviously open to abuse but perhaps customers were trustworthy back in the day. Can anyone confirm?

New one on me. Ask the customer how they’d like their steak cooked but don’t expect them to stand at the griddle cooking it themselves.

Soft and wonderfully relaxing for an evening sipper. Cognac is a enhancer, but gets a bit overpowered by the Port. May try with more Cognac again.

Agreed, John. I've upped the brandy and reduced the port. We'll also update photo ASAP.

A smooth and relaxing classic. I first had it in Spain years ago - given time me to cure an upset stomach ! It worked ?
