Snakebite is best made with Strongbow and Stella.
However, for a complete day/night out, I recommend Special Brew (7.5%) and Knights Dry Cider (8.4%) as the perfect accompaniment to any event.
Just the job for weddings/funerals/christenings.
Never add blackcurrant, that's only for kids.
With a quality apple cider brewed from 100% apples, e.g. Sheppy's, it forms a sort of louche effect when you combine it with the beer. Also I pour both at once to form a single stream and it makes a really nice foam head. I find it best with the added blackcurrant, groseille, or grenadine syrup, or a splash of cassis liqueur.
Snakebite is my go to drink in the pub with lunch. Had a hard time getting them in Britain, and in London I had to make my own with two different pints.
