A snakebite with blackcurrant cordial is also known as a Red Witch. Especially in Northern England.

With a quality apple cider brewed from 100% apples, e.g. Sheppy's, it forms a sort of louche effect when you combine it with the beer. Also I pour both at once to form a single stream and it makes a really nice foam head. I find it best with the added blackcurrant, groseille, or grenadine syrup, or a splash of cassis liqueur.

Snakebite is my go to drink in the pub with lunch. Had a hard time getting them in Britain, and in London I had to make my own with two different pints.
