Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1980, Maker’s Mark welcome visitors and the distillery forms part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The free tours take in the entire bourbon production process, from grain to bottle and includes the label print shop, distillery, rick house, bottling line – complete with bottles being hand-dipped in wax and culminates in the gift shop where this special edition bottle is sold. The grounds are planted with a vast array of native trees and shrubs and also include the restored Victorian distiller’s house, old quart shop and Toll House, which now serve as the distillery’s cafe.
