Settled on this to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A good choice...on all accounts.
It was my second cocktail of the evening - on a "school night" - so I decided to make a half portion. Slightly tipsy and a bit tired I got into a "right muddle"! Added the ginger liquor twice so had to compensate with the other ingredients
Ended up adding bits of this and that until I had an enormous - but delicious - cocktail! Might have to bunk off tomorrow π
I used chocolate bitters. Next time I will add a drop of saline, go all out on expressing with orange peel, plus put a piece of Lindt dark chocolate orange on the side.
Many layers of taste. I used Ardbeg - which was ultimately the dominant layer. "Mo nΓ ire!" - said no one ever!
Cachaca gives me banana vibes...in a good way. I enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing that.
I had to use orgeat syrup instead of agave. Delicious! I will happily make it again using ingredients to the letter of the recipe.
Everyone should know about this cocktail.... genius level in my opinionππΌ
I'm getting (improved) Long Island Iced Tea vibes....but actually with Tea!
If we drink a couple more we might forget it's the hottest June day everπ₯΅
On holiday with limited supplies so substituted Mermaid Gin for the Genever. I tried again with a drop of saline and a bar spoon of sugar syrup. Geweldig, gaan we nog een keer drinken! π³π±
No calvados available (currently holidaying on Mull) substituted the calvados with Cognac. It was delicious -and we will add the apple back in when we get home.
Tomorrow we are off on holiday to celebrate Mr H's 60th birthday (Mull so expect lots of comments on Whiskey cocktails!).
Stumbled on this beauty whilst trying to use up the contents of our fridge! I added a shake of aquafaba for said reason....it was very good! 10/11
Used Mezcal (by accident). I have no comparison - but it worked nicely.
Fit for a King...King Willem-Alexander to be precise!
ππ³π±πΈ
I've made this a few times and decided to try a version. I used bramble jam, Hendricks flora Adora gin and added Rose liqueur....it was lovely πΉ
Finally a passion fruit based cocktail for those of us who have outgrown the "aesthetic" of ordering a drink that sounds like a mid-200s DVD title!
A lemony-appley sidecar... what's not to love about that! ππ
5 stars for a simple cocktail that is much more than the sum of its parts.
A classic and delicious. Improved with a drop of saline IMHO.
The classic side car got us hooked on cocktails, this fruity sour will keep us hooked!
Instead of the de Kuyper Apricot brandy liqueur I used equal measures of de Kuyper Sour Apple, Hallunke Apricot brandy (bought years ago in Halle)and Merlot Lune d'Abricot. It was delicious. Bright, Fruity and a perfect balance of sweet & dry.
On the recommendation of Loz Horner we find ourselves here and are not regretting it. We too had no pot still runs so chose a Discarded Banana Peel rum instead.
It's NYE 2025. As if we weren't feeling nostalgic enough, this cocktail reminded us of our first illicit alcoholic drink...sips of snowballs circa 1980.
Mayday, mayday, mayday!!! We need more time to drink another! Left us three sheets to the windβ!
Perfect compromise for the polarising Negroni lovers and haters!
