This is great! I don't have (and have a hard time locating) the suggested whisky, so I used an Ardbeg Ten - which I adore and built it in the glass with a big ice cube. So simple and so delicious!
I think upping the Tawny and leaving off the sugar syrup will make that a total winner?
I think this depends on the ingredients. The apple juice varies in tartness/sweetness and mouthfeel. Orgeat (I do have a bottle of Giffard's but not at this home, and I prefer my own) can be more or less umami, and more almondy (?) or not. This has a great structure, but the ingredients will make it.
Didn't expect much, but this works! If you have a pineapple around, try it.
Cucumber (fresh), Irish whiskey, Gentian liqueur, Lemon juice, Sugar syrup (2:1)
