This was disappointing. Pretty harsh. Unbalanced. I'm going to try tweaking it but it definitely needs something. Cherry and almond has always been a good combo.......

Love Anders riff on this subbing bourbon for the scotch, the Staggering Gentleman named for his cherished Stagg Jr Barrel Proof Bourbon. Now I have to get some walnut liqueur.
Peanut butter whiskey, Rye whiskey 45% abv, Brown sugar syrup, Aromatic bitters
I substituted caramelized fig syrup for the simple. I just thought it would go nicely with the warm baking spices.
Very yummy, but I love chocolate covered cherries and I added a barspoon of dark creme de cacao. Swoon.
Gin, Light white rum, Lime juice, Grenadine syrup
I expressed an orange peel over the top and used as a garnish. For me it kind of cut the sting.
I'm going to try equal parts lemon juice/honey syrup next time. It was pretty sweet. I also want to try a differnet bitter for a little more contrast. Maybe Peychaud's or Angostura.
Too much clove. I would like to try it with whole cloves shaken; or cut down to one clove. They definitely don't need to be crushed of "muddled". I might like to try it without the clove all together. It seems like the pimento dram hasn't got a chance to speak.
Too much clove. I'll try 1 bud next time. Maybe just crack them instead of muddle. It's not that it tastes bad, but the clove overpowered everything.
Cut the CDC and simple down to 5ml each; add 1 more dash of Peychaud's and 1 dash of chocolate bitters; split base to 1 oz rye whiskey and 1 oz cognac.
