Really looked forward to making this cocktail as we had all the premium ingrediants, unfortunately it tasted very much like the Toronto Cocktail, which is a much simpler cocktail to construct. Still tasty, though. The Fernet can be overpowering so I'd suggest cutting the amount by 1/2.

Tried it with Montenegro amaro and was pleasantly surprised! Having a pre-chilled cocktail glass and using a hot rye is a must.
A nice light drink which initially reminded us of an Alaskan cocktail, albeit much less intense. A good addition to our go-to cocktail list!
Great cocktail with a fun name! My wife and I really enjoyed this. We have a bottle of Nocino Walnut Liqueur that we rarely use (except in our own Manhatten variation), so it was nice to find another spirit forward cocktail to use it with.
A pleasant cocktail. A tad sweet (especially with the garnish). A good way to use up those grapefruits!
Made with half the Demerara and it works! Orange forward and refreshing. We had to use apple brandy as applejack is not available in Canada. Nice drink!
We substituted Peychaud's Apertivo for the Strucchi's and it was delightful! Very balanced and the pineapple taste really came through. Best Jungle Bird cocktail I've ever had!
We used a tawny port instead which seemed to create a light and balanced cocktail. Much lighter tasting than we anticipated, but still a good, solid evening drink.
