This 10 year old cask strength limited edition of only 6,000 bottles is the 4th limited release of unpeated Caol Ila and the 1st at 10 years old. It comes from a once a year batch of unpeated malt made for blending in the “Highland Style”. It was aged in first-fill Bourbon oak casks filled in 1998.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, pale gold.

Aroma:

Maple syrup/vanilla with aromas of gala melon skin, lime zest, sage and bitter marmalade.

Taste:

Starts sweet and remains firey with powerful pepper notes, sharp bitter orange and caramelised marmalade.

Aftertaste:

Oily, slightly green. Still stokes that warming fire emitting whisps of smoke.
