Gabriel Boudier Wizard Award 2024

The competition is split into three regional finals to be held in Scotland, the Midlands & the North, and the South. The top 10 recipes from each final will be selected and the bartenders who created them will be invited to showcase their original recipe and serves to a judging panel in September 2024. The three winners will be invited to the Grand Final at the home of Gabriel Boudier in Dijon, France in 2025 where their creations will be judged by Master Wizards.

Entries for the 2024 competition are open until 31st August. The winner will not only have their recipe developed and launched alongside the Gabriel Boudier range but will receive the prestigious Wizard title and a £1,000 cash prize.

One of the world's leading liqueur brands, Gabriel Boudier is a family-owned brand boasting a portfolio of over 30 crème and liqueur products, including Saffron Gin, Crème de Cassis and Pink Grapefruit.

The first Wizard was Samuel Boulton in 2015/16, who created Kaffir Lime Leaf Liqueur followed by Maria Vieira, creating a Mustard Liqueur, Matthew Cusworth with his Nori Seaweed Liqueur and most recently Xander Driver who created a Turmeric Liqueur.

Rules

Competitors are required to create a flavour not presently commercially available in the UK market. The ingredients must be 100% natural and ethically sourced. There is no restriction on how bartenders create their liqueur and methods may include distillation, percolation, infusion and maceration.

The prize

Besides the cash prize of £1,000, the triumphant Wizard will receive product development support, followed by a launch of their unique liqueur, joining the Gabriel Boudier range and sitting alongside the previous winners.
