The sugar syrup seems superfluous here. Way too sweet for me. Maybe the sweetness will abate with some soda water to top, but the recipe as written didn't quite fit in my Collins. Otherwise the flavors are nice; has potential. Nonetheless, I'm thrilled to find a recipe with a big measure of SoCo like this. I've had my bottle for years and can't get rid of it. I had totally forgotten about Southern Comfort (SoCo), a very common mixer during my college days in the Southern US. I just made this and was pleasantly surprised. Not as sweet as it looks . Pineapple and sweetness forward, lime in the middle but the SoCo comes through at the end (Vanilla, citrus, cinnamon) and that very peculiar SoCo dryness/astringency. Very enjoyable
