1 1/2 fl oz | Mandarine Napoleon liqueur |
1/3 fl oz | Maraschino liqueur |
1 1/6 fl oz | Tangerine / Mandarin / Clementine juice (fresh juice) |
1/3 fl oz | Lime juice (freshly squeezed) |
1 dash (4 drops) | Tonka bitters |
2/3 fl oz | Egg white (pasteurised) |
Garnish:
Dust with freshly grated nutmeg. Optionally add a mandarin zest and a maraschino cherry on a pick.
How to make:
SHAKE all ingredients with ice and strain back into shaker. DRY SHAKE (without ice) and fine strain into ice-filled glass (preferably over a chunk of block ice).
Notes:
You might want to slightly adjust the quantity of lime juice and/or mandarin juice if the mandarin juice is too sweet or too sour.
Origin:
Mandarins, tart cherries, and bitter almonds are the favorite ingredients of a girl I used to know. I met her at the first bar I worked in, and I hoped I could know her more, unfortunately in vain. It got me inspired to make this recipe when I heard about the cocktail competition by Difford's Guide & Mandarin Napoléon.
