A malt of this name was originally produced at the Longrow distillery, built in the mid 1800s and closed in 1896.

Longrow was first distilled in 1973 as part of an experiment to prove it possible to produce an Islay-style single malt whisky on the mainland. The result was so good that it was made again a few years later with regular production starting in 1992.

Longrow CV is an appropriate name for a malt with no age statement as ‘curriculum vitae’ loosely translates from Latin to mean ‘the course of my life’ and this Longrow is a blend of 7, 10 and 14 year old malts aged in ex-bourbon, sherry seasoned, port and ex-rum casks. It is the latest addition to the Longrow range, adding to the existing 10 and 14-year-old bottlings.

Όψη:

Cler, pale olive oil.

Μύτη:

Hint of cardboard and smoke (reminiscent of unstruck newly opened box of matches), touch of wax and newly cleaned copper. Slight hint of inner tube, linseed and nutty oiliness.

Στόμα:

Starts salty and turns gradually smoky. Slight hints of olive oil. Complex and beautifully integrated with readily apparent, yet subtle peat.

Επίγευση:

Long lasting smoky to flinty finish.
