A dash or two of Angostura is a very welcome addition

Maybe it's because I'm not culturally connected to it, but this just feels like an after dinner drink, not a brunch drink whatsoever.

Sorry to any people from New Orleans, but I decided to be a heretic and remake it with reverse dry shaking. Upped the vanilla sugar syrup. Was a very nice dessert drink which is still balanced. Very filling and satisfying.

Tried it with Italian Stock 84 Brandy.
Very frothy and quite sweet.
I expected a bit more complexity in the taste. It was nice but a bit on the simple sweetness side.

Easy to drink, added some whipped cream on top, dusted with nutmeg.

I added a bit more vanilla syrup but I enjoyed this as an after dinner dessert drink. I’m a novice and this was easy and yummy. Almost like eggnog but not as heavy.
