This drink is also known as a Papa Doble for good reason, it's twice the size of a regular cocktail. Hence the above recipe will fill one oversize Martini...
Hey Difford’s Guys, nothing to do with this mix (one of my favorites’ though): love the new layout of your website. Quite trendy and very professional, as always. Keep going.
Many thanks for your kind words. We've still a little polishing still to do then we'll be adding some more new features still under development. Like the recipes, it's a constant work in progress.
Absolutely a fantastic cocktail- skip the sugar altogether and stick with simple Bacardi silver—- Then try to drink 15 of these in one setting like Hemingway…. God Bless America and don’t forget British Gin (Scotland makes the best!)
Great drink, as I was almost out of sugar syrup I used half sugar syrup, half orgeat which gave it a nice additional hint of almond which worked perfectly in this drink!
Outstanding. Large and boozy. Strong flavour of rum. Based on comments, we used 1/2 sugar syrup as we like our cocktails a bit sour. Used Jamaican gold rum as I like Jamaican rum taste. Perfect.
Very enjoyable. Needs lots of ice I the shaking because of the volume. Perhaps a little bit sweet- esp if using proper cherries in the syrup. Next time I will use less sugar syrup and a touch more grapefruit. But good stuff overall.
Been making this cocktail/recipe for years and it is wonderful any season, sipping one now 12.24.2020, don't forget the Luxardo gourmet-marachino cherries. The Commodore's House in NOLA serves a Papa Dople that is excellent, ordered mine in the kitchen bar, try it there.
