Hard to argue with the delicious simplicity of this but we did anyway, using Reposado rather than Blanco Tequila, splitting the 'sugar' between 5ml Agave and 10ml Triple Sec (Cointreau) and dialling the bitters down to 2 drops. Wethinks a bolder version of the beautifully elegant original.
We tried Tequila and Mezcal splits of 40:20 and 50:10 and concluded that the Mezcal upsets the elegant simplicity of the original. But worth a try so thanks for the suggestion.
