This cocktail harnesses the flavour of Strega in an after-dinner cocktail and as its creator says, the sugar rim "brings out the tartness in the drink."
Definitely related to a whiskey sour, but the Strega and Nonino bring more sweetness and a lot more flavor. I like this better than a baseline sour, but it still isn't something I'll likely order unless I am seeking something with Strega in it.
wow - that’s funky! too much Amaro methinks. and probably too much lemon - I was very wary when I saw equal parts for all four. With different proportions I think it cd work…
Strega is (based on one experience with it) similar enough to Chartreuse jaune... Kitchen sink shake with Evan Williams and lime... Worked quite well, and the lime seemed to be curiously extra enhanced, hmm...
