With its rich red colour, complex agave notes, and bittersweet zesty citrus, this is an "Improved" Blood Orange Margarita due to its use of añejo tequila...
Quite delicious. I did not however have Anejo Tequila, so I substituted equal parts Reposado Tequila and Brandy (apparently a stand in), with Del Maguey San Luis del Rio Mezcal. I also made a Tajin rim and squeezed a small blood orange wedge. Maybe should have regal shaken it as well. But just so good. I am not a fan of Mezcal, as I have learnt, but it does work well in this drink.
Used agave syrup instead of sugar. Didn't have blood orange, so used freshly squeezed ruby grapefruit juice instead. Didn't have tequila añejo, so went for Mezcal only.
Smoking, fruity and pink!
