Delicious which surprised me as I am not in general a huge fan of cocktails with orange juice. However, I was looking for a light apertivo and this fit the bill nicely. I am curious about the Regal Shake mentioned in the history. I wasn't sure if it was to be done with orange zest (which I did), lemon, or both. As I did it, I can't say it added an extra dimension over just expressing some citrus oils over the drink. Curious as to others experience with this technique.
No Punt e Mes so I used Alessio Rosso Vermouth di Torino, which to my palate is more of a vermouth amaro than a typical sweet vermouth di Torino. The added bitterness and the sour from the lemon makes this a more complex and interesting Satan's Whiskers.
This is honestly the best Satan's Whiskers I've had. The gin, lemon and vermouths work together to create a gorgeous herbal note that I haven't ever experienced before. The OJ adds some juiciness with the delicious orange flavours enhanced by the GM and bitters. Definitely something to serve your guests when the sun is just going below the tree line.
Agreed. This is definitely my favourite of the recipes I’ve tried. Excellent combination of freshness and fruity with enough bite to keep it interesting.
