I had some odds and ends boozes on hand for rum and brandy, used Cocchi vermouth, and Bittercube’s blackstrap bitters (nutmeg, kola, cinnamon). Finished with orange peel. I did shake it, rather than stirred. I found this less boozy and sweeter than the rating. Made a lovely, complex Christmasy cocktail.
A nice drink but I’ll definitely go easier on the Becherovka next time. The rum is a great backbone to the drink but is a little drowned out by the herbal liquer
May not have had the right rum for this so I used 20ml each, an eight year old Barbados Rum and Plantation Original Dark. The Becherovka and Black Walnut play well together amidst a surround of rum/cognac and are well supported by a suprisingly subtle foundation from the Punt E Mes. I liked this. Easy on the Becherovka and use plenty of the Black Walnut. Five stars!
