We have the 5th edition still. It’s close to falling apart, has drink stains, hand written notes and ratings. It’s known as “The bible” in our house, the missus won’t accept any other book lol.
I bought the book (and your jigger) from Amazon here in the US. Absolutely love the book - it's fantastic for just browsing for inspiration, which we did last night when some friends came over. Added bonus: my name and some recipes also appear in there. Very cool.
Really recommend this cocktail book!
An incredible job!
Compared to the 30 cocktail books I have read before, DGtC offers recipes that work and have actually been tested by the author and not theoretical writings with omissions and misunderstandings as is often the case.
This is not to say that you will like all the recipes as everyone has their own tastes, but even the type of cocktails you don't like (bittersweats in my case) suddenly appear in a completely new light and you even start to enjoy some of them!
My hat's off to you!
Not that specify Nolet's Silver Dry Gin but you could use this in place of my suggested brand of gin. Nolet's Silver is very floral and generous in both flavour and alcohol strength so perhaps use a little less that the stated measure for the gin in each cocktail.
I sadly had to pass on the book when they were available in Australia :(
What is the postage cost to Australia? I would really love one. But I know it’s probably expensive.
Hi Jess, unfortunately the shipping cost from the UK to Australia seems to keep rising at the moment. Last week when I looked at a comparison of a few shipping companies it was over £50. We are looking to distribute locally but this is a few months away. Sorry, I'd love to make this happen more quickly!
No, the book doesn't have an ingredients index. With 3,000 cocktails such an index would be another book in itself. However, we have included a search for cocktails in the book in our Cocktail Finder on this site.
What a great book. I bought it for myself for Christmas. Love trying new recipes & making new cocktails for family & friends here in Australia.
Last night I made the Honey Margarita.
Thank you again for such a wonderful book.
Kim
Hello wonderful people who have brought so much to life, how much does the book weigh please? The details above say « Grammes: 2 » but I feel their may be a digit or three missing there.
Frustratingly we can't edit comments. As discerning drinkers on this site will attest, I’ve become accustomed to living with my typos! Many thanks for your kind words and feedback.
As it does say in the opening sentence, apologies.
Also if there’s any way of editing my original post, it was meant to say « who have brought so much pleasure to my life « . And « there » not « their ». Shudder.

Hello,
Could you please let me know if you are able to ship to Ukraine or Poland? Could also let me know the fee of the shipment and how long it will take.
Would be very interested in a series of smaller guides maybe categorised by decade or era. I'd love to have something of a Diffords 'library' available to the completely new bartenders I hire.
Good to know. I'm considering a smaller book with just the most frequently used recipes. On the other side, when I finally get around to a 17th edition it will need to have even more pages!
The digital version of our book is this website. Hence, not sure there would be much demand for an E-book version. Not something we're planning. Although we are constantly striving to improve this website.
Hey guys, is it possible for me to get this edition as I live in in Turkey? This website is a cornerstone and a guide for my story with cocktails—so why not I make a room for this book in my library.
This is the book which takes cocktail making at home to a whole new level! You learn so many new skills and definitely the Christmas present which keeps on giving. Thankyou Simon and good luck with the 16th edition xx
