Lighter in colour and more mellow in flavour than a classic Negroni, with sloe gin adding richness and subtle berry flavours

A New favourite negroni, and a new favourite full stop! Brilliant use for sloe gin. Significantly more laid back than the standard negroni. Used select as the red bitter to emphasise the berry characters, and Cocchi Americano rosa was the closest vermouth I had, which I felt worked well. And good old beefeater gin.

I concur with your opinion on the Sloegroni, especially for something to mix around holiday time.

I also particularly like the Christmas negroni, and a blackthorn (English). Latter is definitely on the sweeter side but I adore intense berry flavours.
