Delicious. Closer to an Old Fashioned than a Sazerac. However, was using my in-laws 25+ year old Galliano and maple syrup in the absence of simple. Made a great drink. The lemon twist is essential.
Somehow gives me Vieux Carre vibes. Sazerac is an apt comparison. Without simple syrup, it's good too, the Galliano on full display, but arguably begs for a bit of sugar... Also, I didn't put this over ice. Served it up. (5 Oct 2023, 4:29p)
