Named after the capital city of Trinidad, the home of Angostura Bitters, and fittingly this cocktail calls for a monster half an ounce of bitters. Despite...
This was delicious! I'm not sure *how* it works, but it really does work -- the big bold flavors of the mezcal and Angostura are subdued yet amplified by each other to ultimately create something new and distinctly tasty. I would definitely make this again!
What an absolute blast of a cocktail. Three easily dominating flavors are balanced so perfectly it's borderline unbelievable. The evolution is delightful.
Wow. This turned out to be a delicious and very interesting cocktail. I didn't have Mezcal Joven so I used Los Amantes Reposado with great results.
To me, it smells like marzipan with cherry, the almond syrups smoothes the mezcal but you could still get some smokiness. To finally end up with a slight BBQ sauce aftertaste. Very weird, but in a good way.

A very full on and fast evolution from ango to mezcal. It's like sipping a light Trinidad sour then as you breath out you get all the smokiness. The bitter and smoke are unlike anything I've tried before, this drink is mind blowing to this novice.
This drink doesn’t make sense. The full-on flavour of mezcal mixed with an overdose of Angostura = a smooth, warm, complex and rich experience, it’s only when you put down the glass that you realise you can’t quite feel your lips!
