Very pleasant and slipped down easily. Obviously shaking emphasises the bitter element in the Campari, but the recipe is balanced nonetheless The squeezed and dropped in orange segment worked really well! Will def keep in mind for warm weather or “fresh and fruity” occasions.

Remade with the last of my homemade raspberry-strawberry gin, which seemed better suited to the more traditional stirred and served on ice method, tho I retained the squeezed and dropped in Orange segment to happy effect.

As I recall his shaken not stirred negroni appeared during the lockdown days, way before 2025!

Perhaps Mr Tucci prefers shaken, which gives a slightly colder beverage, because he is using a 2-1-1 ratio rather than the traditional equal parts. I have been making my Negronis with the 2-1-1 ration preferring the boozier result. I haven’t tried shaking though.

He shakes rather than stirs! Your text "he breaks bartending convention to stir rather than shake" implies the opposite!

Thanks, Mike. Now fixed.

Very curious about shaking the negroni.
