Agree with the above. Needed some sweetness. Added some honey syrup, split Amaro base Averna and Nonino, and rhubarb bitters and it was quite enjoyable.

Echoing the previous comments. This is quite tart and benefits from a little simple.

I tried the soft version with Nonino Quintessenzia. Maybe it could be a bit heavier on the herb side.

It was just a little unbalanced for me. I tend to like sour drinks but this was a tad heavy on the sour. I added just a teeny bit of grenadine (about 1/8 oz) and another 1/8 oz of allspice, and that was enough to balance it out for me.

Depending on your choice of rum, you might want some simple with this.
