A Harvey Wallbanger made with tequila in place of vodka. Squeeze quality oranges just before making, and you'll be amazed at just how good this cocktail...
Fascinating that the drink, once stirred, is dominated by the tequila flavor notes - the tequila citrus notes playing well with the OJ, while the sweet OJ softens and moderates 2 oz (GOOD MORNING!!) of tequila. Once you stir the cocktail the anise of the Galliano is completely subsumed by the tequila - amazing.
I accidentally mixed a cocktail with these same ratios but using dry gin instead - that drink was featured the anise/herbal notes of the Galliano, with the OJ still a prominent flavor and with the botanicals of the gin in the background - not bad (but not really exceptional, although if you are a gin lover you may disagree).
Like the use of the tequila. It gives the drink much more flavour than the Harvey Wallbanger. Will use Sebastian Matthies' recommendation and try Licor 43. I think it may work better with the tequila.
