I had it at the Le Lion in Hamburg and it made me buy sloe gin immediately. But I learned that the perfect balance of the drink is not easy to achieved. The sloe gin needs to be rather Dry and the quality of the orgeat is crucial as well. And finally everything has to adapted to the sweetness of the Champagne/Sparkling wine
challenging but rewarding drink
Made the Smuggler's Cove Recipe, which muddles fresh pineapple chunks before shaking. It really like the elegant pineapple flavor of the muddling. The SC Recipe uses more sugar and liqueur. I guess I can bring down sugar to 1/4 OZ if using 1/2 OZ of Apricot Brandy
Best Aperitivo I had yet. Lovely drink that demonstrates that complexity and balance don't need a lot of alcohol.
I need to try the Rome Royal Riff with Champagne instead of Soda. Guess it'll be a blast.
Lovely Drink. I used Don Q Reserva 7, a great Rum for this drink.
Why is it called Dry Daiquiri? One would expect a something dry like a martini. This drink is rather like a small jungle bird trying to fly. Let's call it Fly Daiquri.
