Navy rum (ideally 54.5% alc./vol.), Bourbon whiskey, Gin, Lime juice, (+ 2 more)
As a big Navy rum drinker, this cocktail is good, but not great. I felt it lacked something, but not sure what. I did feel the rum was a bit muted in the drink. It went very well with a spicy meal.
I got a similar feeling. Added 1/3oz of spiced pineapple rum liqueur. Seemed to lift it a bit
Traditionally speaking, rye is king of you ask me. But, if you're using bourbon there are ones with a high percent of rye (Bulleit).
Just tried with bulleit by coincidence. Delicious! Also used punt e mes which I've not had before. Quite enjoyed the more bitter flavour but added two maraschino cherries to balance with sweetness. Lovely
Pineapple juice, Coconut rum liqueur, Aromatic bitters, Lime juice, Pineapple liqueur
Mezcal, Fruit cup liqueur, Lemon juice, Sugar syrup (2:1)
Absolutely delicious—although I prefer doubling the Campari to 1/2oz. With the extra bitterness it balances nicely and better lives up to its reputation for "tasting exactly like grapefruit", as many say.
Good shout. Im going to try switching grand Marnier for Cointreau next time too
This is delicious! I went to 1/4oz on the syrup since I always find the sweetness of this particular one a bit too much. Was spot on ????
I bought Pernod not realising it was like sambuca ??
However this is now one of my favourite cocktails. The measures all seem about right for me. Nicely balanced
