Like this! Strong flavour of Aperol, not as bitter as other Negronis (which I also enjoy). What I like is that it ‘packs a punch’ flavour-wise without being too high in alcohol.

This is infinitely better when the juice of half a lime is added.
Prior to adding the lime, it was overpoweringly sweet and bitter, and difficult to discern any specific ingredient other than the Cachaça.
Once the lime was added the flavours really opened up, and the Elderflower and Aperol were no longer overpowered.
It went from being an absolute slog to drink, to one of my favourites.
Thanks for the tip with the lime - tried without and although I quite liked it, definitely on the sweet side. Lovely with the lime added. :o)
We had this at New Year and I tasted it before adding the champagne and it was lovely, so I’ve also made this without the champagne as a slightly bitter beautifully pink lemon daiquiri. A winner either way!
I agree! Based on your review I tried it before adding bubbly (prosecco in my case) and really liked it. Did add a little extra sugar solution, but that’s just my sweet palate. Lovely with the fizz added too. Will definitely make again.
I made the gin variation with Greenalls London gin and Noilly Prat vermouth. As a fan of gin martinis this had a certain very welcome ‘je ne sais quoi’ with the addition of Benedictine. Very nice. Can see this becoming a regular choice.
