I have tried substituting Unicum for Jagermeister. I have used 20ml instead of 40ml and added 10ml of vanilla vodka to try and soften it
The sugar syrup is uncessary and makes it too sweet.

Plus 12 ml of cherry liquor for a cherry tootsie!
I prefer with a touch less sugar syrup - about 7.5ml. Wonder about trying a hint of mint syrup instead?

I have decided I rather like flips.
I tried this and found it very agreeable indeed, although I halved the amount of sugar syrup and found it pleasingly tart. Definitely one to try again. I do wonder if some kind of aromatic addition might be beneficial.
I didn't have any Chambord, only Creme de Mure. It came out excessively sweet for my taste. Could be adjusted perhaps with a little lemon juice and less creme de mure
