Il Merlot Di Nonino Monovitigno is distilled from fresh merlot grape pomace from the Fruili wine region.

The pomace is de-stalked and fermented in vacuum-sealed stainless steel tanks to avoid oxidation. The fermented pomace is distilled in discontinuous copper steam stills. The grappa is rested but not aged before bottling to protect the flavours of the grape pomace.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 25/08/2025

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Floral rose petals, cherry stones, dry hay, white pepper, and linseed oil.

Taste:

Dry hay, toasted almond, ripe pear and pepper spice mellowed by paint linseed oil. Faint lemon pie pastry note.

Aftertaste:

Fades with sweet almond, faint rose petal, white pepper and lemon pie.

Overall:

As with other varietal grappas by Nonino, this grappa is perfect after a dinner accompanied by a wine of the same grape variety.
