History

Spritz in Venice are based on local wines, originally with Pinot Grigio or Soave being more popular than Prosecco (what's now known as a Venetian Spritz). My preference is with a Pinot Grigio.

Review

The style of "Spritz" I (yours truly) first encountered in Venice during my first visit in 2003.

Variations/similar cocktails

Venetian Spritz - with Prosecco sparkling wine in place of either Pinot Grigio or Soave still wines.
