Semilla Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 fl oz	Caribbean blended rum aged 6-10 years
5/6 fl oz	Ambrato/ambre/amber vermouth
1/4 fl oz	Martini Riserva Speciale Bitter
1/6 fl oz	Bénédictine D.O.M. liqueur
4 dash	Soy sauce

How to make

Glassware

Prepare

Select and pre-chill a DOUBLE OLD-FASHIONED GLASS.

Prepare garnish of lemon zest twist.

Method

STIR all ingredients with ice.

STRAIN into ice-filled glass.

Garnish

EXPRESS lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish.

History

Semilla is Spanish for 'seed.' A seed has one purpose only: to grow, to 'become.'

A strange and interesting cocktail, and I actually wonder how this drink would work at all with Bacardi 8. I used Appleton Reserve Blend and that has a tiny hint of Jamaican funk that at least pairs okay (not well) with the soy sauce. I'd give it 3.5* personally. The only thing is perhaps Antonis used some sort of extremely high quality soy sauce with a very different flavour profile.
