Inspired by Hong Kong, the Dynasty Margarita appropriately uses traditional Chinese ingredients of lychee and ginger and combines these with elderflower liqueur to make a distinctive floral Margarita.
Adapted from a recipe created in 2019 by Jay Khan in Hong Kong, China for Patrón Tequila's Margarita of the Year competition. This was the winning cocktail!
Jay's original recipe uses homemade lychee & ginger syrup, Patrón Silver Tequila and Patron Citronge. To make the homemade lychee & ginger syrup, blend fresh peeled and de-stoned lychees until smooth. Double-strain this juice and combine with equal parts of freshly pressed ginger juice. Add an equal amount of granulated sugar to the combined weight of lychee and ginger juice and blend until the sugar is completely dissolved.
