Review:

Created by Jay Khan and inspired by Hong Kong, the Dynasty Margarita appropriately uses traditional Chinese ingredients of lychee and ginger and combines these with elderflower liqueur to make a distinctive floral Margarita.

History:

Adapted from a recipe created in 2019 by Jay Khan in Hong Kong, China for Patrón Tequila's Margarita of the Year competition. This was the winning cocktail!

Jay's original recipe uses homemade lychee & ginger syrup. To make this blend fresh peeled and de-stoned lychees until smooth. Double strain this juice and combine with equal parts of freshly pressed ginger juice. Add equal amount of granulated sugar to the combined weight of lychee and ginger juice and blend until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Nutrition:

One serving of Dynasty Margarita contains 139 calories.

Alcohol content:

  • 1.1 standard drinks
  • 17.23% alc./vol. (34.46° proof)
  • 15.1 grams of pure alcohol
