Entries are now open for the 12th edition of BACARDÍ Legacy, and for the first time in the competition’s history, a new Wildcard opportunity has been introduced giving bartenders the chance to compete in the Miami global final.
The BACARDÍ Legacy Cocktail Competition gives each participant the opportunity to showcase his or her creations and have the chance of their drink being crowned the next BACARDÍ Legacy cocktail. The competition is open to both long and short drinks. The most successful cocktails will be those that have the most appeal and are easy to replicate.
For the very first time, BACARDÍ Legacy have introduced a Wildcard entry. Thirty-nine countries will be represented in the 2020 global final, but bartenders working in non-participating countries now have the opportunity to get involved by competing for the Wildcard spot, and the fortieth place at the Miami global final in 2020.

Legacy in the UK
This year, the competition kicks off with a new ambassador programme lead by former Legacy finalists. Participating bartenders will receive invaluable, direct and constructive feedback on their cocktail creations ahead of submitting their entries.
The ambassador line-up will include the 2019 UK Legacy winner, Chelsie Bailey, Filthy XIII, and previous UK finalists Joey Medrington, Montpellier group and Clare Morrow, Lyaness Bar, and previous global finalists Leon Back, Artesian, Kaitlin Wilkes, Berkeley Bar, Joseph Harper, Savoy Hotel and Matthew Dakers, London Cocktail Club.
UK entries close on 15th August 2019. Successful UK entrants will go head to head in regional heats across London, Manchester and Glasgow later this year. The UK finalists selected from each region will then travel to New York and Puerto Rico to further inspire their Legacy campaigns. During the trip, they will explore the history of BACARDÍ and the craftsmanship behind the renowned rum at the BACARDÍ distillery in Puerto Rico.
