Ume Shu is a Japanese liqueur named after the small variety of Japanese plum of the same name - actually a type of apricot, these are grown in the warm Lishu area of Japan. The Japanese character or 'kanji' for Ume also represents health.
It tastes sweet, warming and honeyed with poached plum with a hints of almond. Serve chilled over ice or long with tonic or soda water. Also try mixed 50/50 with Cognac over ice.
