A damn revelation! And I only made this because I just swiped a half pound of my neighbor's apples from a tree whose branches were hanging over into my yard. Fair game!... Not a Martini. ... Made this with Hayman's Old Tom, which was fortunately ideal... Great drink!

A Saturday night cocktail, aimed to please and not divide opinion.

What a delightfully refreshing cocktail. It was not what I was expecting when I looked at the ingredients. Everything blends together perfectly. It has a hint of grapefruit flavour. Definitely a keeper.

My husband mistakenly added creme de violette instead of elderflower. It was fabulous! Of course the color was fairly awful, but I named his version the Grey Flannel Suit.

Yeah, I know that technically there's still two days to go before this gets its "Cocktail of the Day" billing, but when I saw it on the horizon the name rang a tiny little bell somewhere. Well, I'm glad it did. You know when you've tasted something in the past, and you know you really enjoyed it, and weeks and months later you can't recall for the life of you which particular cocktail it was any more? (Well, okay, maybe that doesn't happen to those of you who are meticulous with notes...)

...Well, this was one of those cocktails, and the moment I sipped, it was like a reunion! Absolutely glorious fruity cocktail, and at last I'm glad I can add it to my favourites for future recall. Ringing a tiny little bell? No, more like celebrating the onset of autumn with a chamber orchestra playing one of your favourite tunes. A grand drink, and highly recommendable.
