mad at myself for needing to see this recipe to think to put blanco tequila and Benedictine together. I used a couple drops of chartreuse elixir and a couple drops of lavender bitters in lieu of the margarita bitters.
I didn't have "margarita bitters." I used orange bitters, about a 1/4 oz like lime juice, 1/2 oz lemon juice and shook in an egg white. Nice step up that cut the cloying semi-sweet texture.
Definitely an underrated cocktail. I actually make this 50ml/25ml (ie. same ratio, just slightly bigger), otherwise the total of 60ml of liquid looks a bit sad in my Nick and Nora glasses. I'm using El Major blanco.
