An Excellent Cocktail with the Crème De Cassis not being overpowering, with there being a nice amount of citrus coming through from the limes, with the small hint of Grand Mariner smoothing things out nicely, which I’m going to make this again by swapping out the Crème De Cassis for Crème De Framboise and swapping out the Lime Juice for lemon juice, with the measurements being the same to see how that goes
Just tried it and it’s a little more sour and tart due to the Lemon Juice and Crème De Framboise, but works really well with the Dark Rum and the small hint of Grand Mariner, with in my opinion this variation being equally as good the original
It allows the cassis to shine without becoming too fruity. I can't help but think a different rum, like an aged Jamaican or agricole, would add another needed dimension to this cocktail
Wow. What a nice cocktail. The Cassis is prevalent on the nose. It is slightly citrusy upfront on the palate but nicely balanced. Actually a light, refreshing cocktail.
Silly general cocktail question, I am writing it here as this is today's lunchtime cocktail. About "freshly squeezed" lime or lemon etc... is it ok when prepared 1-2 hours ahead ? I suppose in bars they squeeze everything hours ahead and bottle the juices but I take things a bit too literally sometimes lol
absolutely it goes straight into the fridge, and would't prepare more than say 2 hours ahead. This cocktail by the way was pretty nice, nicer than expected. Thanks for the tip. By the way England are losing to France lol
This is really good!
There's a lot of lime, but it balances well with Grand Marnier.
The (Gosling) rum and cassis are supporting players, surprisingly, but of course they're defining the drink.
Excellent. I'm having a second!
