Excellent holiday drink, despite the strong flavored ingredients nothing is overpowering. Spiced orange and apples with dark molasses and vanilla. Just a hint of the absinthe. Sweet but not cloyingly so. The 15 ml of water is the right dilution, I did not even add a cube to the glass.
Oh that is a cool drink! A lot of flavours and depth. The absinthe is genius, keeping it all afloat with the Calvados. The rums are obviously the body of this concoction, without ever overpowering or dominating the palate. The orange bitters serve as a nice, uplifting accent.
