I’m beginning to believe that gin and sherry are made for each other. The sherry nicely balances the sweetness of the chartreuse and allows the gin to come through. Wonderfully complex.

I didn’t have any fino in so used Los Arcos amontillado instead. I liked the nuttiness it brought.

Fords gin, Lustau Los Arcos Amontillado, Yellow Char, Regan’s No. 6.

Not bad. Pretty good, but I loved the clean nature of the Difford's Guide version of the Alaska. That should be the one getting 5*.

Fino very much the star of the show here. Lovely balance and complexity.

This is delicious, very close to an Alaska. I'm tempted to try it again with an additional dash of absinthe.

Zounds! This is a hidden gem. The Sherry gave it a lovely nuttiness, as yet another distinction from an Anchorage.

Ran out of London dry half way through making this, so subbed in 15 ml old tom to make up the volume. Seems to work well

Trying this as an initiation into the Alaska class of cocktails. This was very subtle and pleasant. Enjoyed the delicacy of the chartreuse. Could potentially bump the fino to 20ml for my palate, although that would take it more toward martini territory.
