I’ve made this a few times and find that it works even better with a single malt with a hint of peat through it. Not a big punchy islay, but a talisker works well or, even better, a springbank as the slight briney-ness reduces the need for saline.

Looking forward to trying this again with Johnnie Walker. The Monkey Shoulder version was not recommended.

I don't get the low ratings of this cocktail. Less is more, bright scotch character reinforced by refreshing herbal notes.

Too much lemon. Back that down and it’s really good. 1/3oz is better.

This is a surprisingly good cocktail that is also very simple. Highly recommended.
