Cut out the sugar syrup. Resulting in a tiki tasting cocktail without the sweetness. You need a strong Cognac - would recommend a brandy - and we used Myers rum to add a slight hint of Jamaican funk. It was perfect.
Was a favorite when I made it with Myers's. Just made it with Bacardi 8yr and Torres 10yr brandy split with cognac. Still a favorite! All in on the Torres next time.
I find it a bit oversweet, would try to reduce the sugar syrup or use the home-made Orgeat. The one from Giffard is good but tends to dominate the flavor & taste.
juicy and fresh. Goes down well. A nice after work drink. Sometimes we might drizzle a little homemade grenadine. I’ve been also doing a Campari drizzle and calling it a Dress Code.
