Having just sampled an Old Etonian, this looks eerily familiar, comfortingly so.

Made again using Laird's Applejack 86 (86 proof) and cocchi Americano. Resulting cocktail was a little different in flavour, but also appeared to be drier. Loved it.

I expected this to be more alcoholic in style but it was quite gentle. Orchard fruit and the hint of absinthe acting as a bit of sweet spice.

This was totally different than I was expecting. It is very well balance with no ingredient overshadowing another. Not overly sweet which was a plus for us. Important for this cocktail to breathe a little and warm up slightly. The tastes are more pronounced.
Excellent aperitive with a nice sharp cheddar and whole meal crackers. Delightful cocktail.
