This is delicious! Indeed martini like and a new favorite. Apple, apricot, and absinthe pair profoundly with the Lillet. I used Orchard Apricot from Rothman & Winter and a V.S. cavaldos. ☆☆☆☆☆
Like a subtly fortified white wine. Attractively delicate flavours with beautiful balance. Dry, spicy, underpinned by sweetness. Characteristically of its creator, despite being a modern invention it has the feel of a classic. Highly recommended, especially for white wine and Calvados fans.
Instead of 3/4 oz Lillet Blanc try using 1/2 oz each of Lillet Blanc and Tempus Fugit Kina L'Aero d'Or. Excellent! (I also used Santa Fe Spirits Apple Brandy, but availability may be limited in some areas.)
Made again using Laird's Applejack 86 (86 proof) and cocchi Americano. Resulting cocktail was a little different in flavour, but also appeared to be drier. Loved it.
This was totally different than I was expecting. It is very well balance with no ingredient overshadowing another. Not overly sweet which was a plus for us. Important for this cocktail to breathe a little and warm up slightly. The tastes are more pronounced.
Excellent aperitive with a nice sharp cheddar and whole meal crackers. Delightful cocktail.
