Used 1 1/2 oz Overproof Navy Rum and 1/2 oz Demerara 151. Backed off a little of the sugar syrup. It was outstanding and very spirit forward.

Followed your advice and backed off the syrup a bit. This was outstanding. Made mine with Smith & Cross Overproof Jamaican and not having any Cherry Heering, I used Luxardo Cherry Morlacca and Averell Damson Plum Gin, half and half. Great stuff the Averell, made like traditional Sloe Gin. (Oh and no bitters needed.)
