Le Sirop de Monin Brown Cane Sugar Syrup is made from sugar cane from Réunion Island, renowned for the quality of its sugar due to its tropical climate and volcanic soil.

Stronger in flavour than Monin's Pure Cane 'white' sugar syrup, this tends to suit cocktails based on spirits matured in oak such ad whiskey and aged rums.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 07/06/2023

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden amber.

Aroma:

Moscavado sugar, cinnamon, caramel and vanilla.

Taste:

Alluring rich caramel with delicate cinnamon and vanilla and treacle.

Aftertaste:

Sweet caramel and cinnamon.

Overall:

Brilliantly versatile brown sugar syrup with attractive caramel, cinnamon, vanilla and treacle notes. Not as full-flavoured as a Muscadavo or Demerara syrup but that's its charm - flavoursome but not domineering. This syrup sweetens and amplifies the flavours of other ingredients in cocktails rather than overpowering them.
